Bedřiška Uždilová

Bedřiška Uždilová  ak.mal.
 ( * 19.12.1954, Praha )

B.U.

The expressive painting art of Bedřiška Uždilová is based upon real impressions and experiences, upon viewing non-typical parts of landscapes, but also upon observing human faces and everything what forms the natural art of our environment.

The spectator is invited to cooperate in discovering what is under the surface of everyday practice. He thus becomes witness of the fight for the uniqueness of art. Her painting is artistically attractive (surprising and brisk colour combinations, variability of lines, suggestive compositions). The motifs and themes are seemingly quite "civil", in their background there are the concurrent but existential feelings of us all. The creative work is linked up with the French and Czech "Classical Modern Arts".

The paintress graduated at the Prague Academy of Graphic Arts, but later she was also student of the School of Art of University Degree in Paris and in Perugia. She received the first prize at the Autumn Saloon in Paris (1994) and the first prize, at the International Fair at Forte dei Marmi in Italy in the year 1964 when she was only nine years old. Her work has been exhibited in Paris, in Lyon, in Frankfurt and in Tokio.

She is also engaged in sculptural portraiting, illustrations, monumental painting (frescoes, mosaics) and creation of cobalt painted porcelains.
